Li Keqiang Meets with Chuan Leekpai, President of the National Assembly and Speaker of the House of Representatives of Thailand

On the morning of November 5, 2019 local time, Premier Li Keqiang met at the new Thai parliament building with Chuan Leekpai, President of the National Assembly and Speaker of the House of Representatives of Thailand.

Speaking highly of the current development of China-Thailand relations, Li Keqiang appreciated the efforts the Thai National Assembly has made over the years to promote bilateral friendship. Li Keqiang said, the Chinese side is willing to continue to deepen exchanges and cooperation with the Thai side in various areas including the legislature, continuously consolidate the popular support for bilateral relations and make the traditional friendship featuring "one family of China and Thailand" even closer. We are ready to strengthen communication and coordination with the Thai side in regional and international affairs to push forward the constant development of relations between China and the Association of Southeast Asian Nations and regional integration.

Chuan Leekpai welcomed Premier Li Keqiang's visit to Thailand and his attendance at the series of Leaders' Meetings on East Asia Cooperation. He said, the Thai people share a close bond with the Chinese people. Not long ago, the Thai National Assembly actively participated in the celebrations for the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China. The Thai side is ready to strengthen exchanges with the Chinese side between the two countries' legislative institutions, peoples and youths, so as to attain greater development of bilateral relations.
