On February 20, the Chinese Ambassador, H.E. Mr. Yang Honglin met with H.E. Mr. Saleh Al-Sheikh, Saudi Minister of Islamic Affairs, Endowments, Call and Guidance. They exchanged views on strengthening mutual cooperation with religious affairs in particular. Mr. Yang introduced the ethnic and religious policies of the Chinese government and the current situation of the Chinese muslims. He denoted that China attached vital importance to the cooperation upon Islamic affairs with Saudi Arabia. He also expressed his sincere wish to promote dialogue and communication between different civilizations and religions and build a harmonious world through common endeavors. Mr. Saleh denoted that it had witnessed rapid development of Saudi-Chinese relations in a huge number of areas including politics, trade, culture and religion in the care of both countries' leaders. Saudi Arabia paid high attention to the ever-increasing role played by China in the world and would like to enhance mutual understanding and friendship through cooperation in the areas of culture and religion. |
