In the evening of February 6, the Chinese New year's Eve, the Chinese Embassy in Saudi Arabia held a Spring Festival reception for overseas Chinese.

 

  The Chinese Ambassador, H.E. Mr. Yang Honglin expressed his warm New Year greetings to overseas Chinese, students and staffs of Chinese institutions in Saudi Arabia. He talked on the great achievements of economic and social development of China in 2007 while highlighted the significance of the 17th National Congress of the Communist Party of China. He recalled the vibrant development of Sino-Saudi relations in 2007 and his wide engagements with Saudi figures from various sectors since he assumed his post as the Chinese Ambassador to Saudi Arabia. He extended his heartfelt thanks to overseas Chinese, students and staffs of Chinese institutions in Saudi Arabia for their contributions to further bilateral relations and their support to the Chinese embassy's work. He stressed on the unprecedented opportunities for further development of Sino-Saudi relations while encouraged them to make greater contributions.

  Mr. Yang Honglin also visited major Chinese institutions based in Riyadh before the Spring Festival and extended his festival greetings to staffs of those institutions.
