On January 29, the Chinese Ambassador, H.E. Mr. Yang Honglin hosted a working breakfast for the Chief Executive of Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, Hon. Sir Donald Tsang, who was visiting Saudi Arabia concurrently. Hon. Sir Tsang denoted that it enjoyed very good potential of the cooperation between Hong Kong and Saudi Arabia. Hong Kong would like to promote links with its Saudi counterparts in the areas of infrastructure, finance, investment and logistics. Mr. Yang denoted that the Chinese Embassy here in Riyadh encouraged enterprises based in Hong Kong to further economic and trade relations with Saudi Arabia and would like to exert its endeavors to render necessary assistance.

  Hon. Sir Tsang paid his first official visit to Saudi Arabia from January 28 to 29. During his stay, King Abdullah, the Emir of Riyadh Region, the Minister of Trade and Industry, the Minister of Economy and Planning and the Board Chairman of Kingdom Holding Company met with Hon. Sir Tsang respectively. The Minister of Economy and Planning hosted an evening banquet for Hon. Sir Tsang. Besides, he also attended a business luncheon co-hosted by Hong Kong Trade Development Council and Riyadh Chamber of Commerce and made a keynote speech to invitees.
