Secretary-General of GCC expressed his wish to enhance cooperation between GCC and China

  On January 12, the Chinese Ambassador, H.E. Mr. Yang Honglin met with the Secretary-General of GCC, H.E. Mr. Abdul Rahamal Attiyah. They exchanged views on strengthening cooperation between the two sides and other issues of common concern.

  Mr. Yang Honglin expressed his appreciation for Mr. Attiyah's great contributions to the development of friendship between China and GCC. He denoted that GCC was an important regional organization in the Gulf and the Middle East. It had been playing a vital role in maintaining regional peace and stability and promoting economic integration among member countries. He emphasized that China attached great importance to the friendly relations with GCC and would like to exert concerted efforts with the organization to further mutual cooperation in various fields.

  Mr. Attiyah spoke highly of China's achievements in modernizing its economy and the important role China played in safeguarding world peace and stability. He reaffirmed that China was a friend of GCC countries with similar political stand and strong economic complementarities. GCC would like to deepen all-round cooperation with China and strengthen consultation and coordination with China in various fields.
