On January 12, the Chinese Ambassador, H.E. Mr. Yang Honglin met with the Saudi Minister of State, H.E. Dr. Abdul-Aziz bin Abdullah Al-Khuwaiter. They exchanged views on furthering bilateral relations.

  Mr. Yang denoted that the Sino-Saudi relations were long standing with the ancient "silk road" served as a tie between the two peoples. Since the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Saudi Arabia, bilateral friendship and cooperation had witnessed rapid development in the care of both countries' leaders. Political trust, economic and trade cooperation between the two countries had been enhanced substantially. He also expressed his firm belief that Sino-Saudi relations would be further promoted on the basis of mutual respect, mutual benefits and win-win results.

  Dr. Khuwaiter welcomed Mr. Yang Honglin's arrival as the new Chinese Ambassador to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia while spoke highly of China's thought of building a Harmonious World. He emphasized that it was the common aspiration of the two peoples to develop strategic friendship and cooperation between the two countries. He denoted that China was a rich country in terms of long history and great civilization and never imposed its own thought upon others. Saudi Arabia would like to learn from China in this arena and strengthen cooperation with China in various fields.
