The Saudi Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources spoke highly of the Saudi-Chinese joint achievements in the area of energy

  On January 1, 2008, the Chinese Ambassador, H.E. Mr. Yang Honglin met with the Saudi Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, H.E. Mr. Ali Al-Naimi. They exchanged views on bilateral relations and energy cooperation.

  H.E. Mr. Yang denoted that links between China and Saudi Arabia flourished in a huge number of areas in recent years with energy cooperation in particular. He spoke highly of the endeavors exerted both by the Saudi government and Mr. Naimi himself in furthering bilateral relations. He expected to enhance the cooperation with Saudi Arabia to promote the strategic friendship and cooperation in a win-win situation.

  H.E. Mr. Naimi welcomed H.E. Mr. Yang's arrival to his new post as the Chinese Ambassador to Saudi Arabia while spoke highly of the friendship between the two countries especially the joint achievements in the area of energy. He denoted that Saudi Arabia was a country with abundant energy resources while China witnessed a fast economic development. Therefore, it was of strategic importance for the two countries to carry on mutual cooperation provided for such great complementarities of the two economies.
