The Political Consultant of GCC's Secretary General expected to further cooperation between GCC and China

  On December 31, the Chinese Ambassador, H.E. Mr. Yang Honglin met with the Political Consultant of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC)'s Secretary General, Mr. Muhammad Mahamed. They exchanged views on developing friendly relations between GCC and China.

  H.E. Mr. Yang denoted that GCC was an important organization in the gulf region with an ever-increasing role played both in regional and international affairs. It was the aspiration of both sides to further mutual cooperation under new conditions since China and GCC had experienced friendly relations for such a long time. China would like to strengthen the all-round cooperation with GCC in the areas of politics, economics, trade, energy and culture in order to maintain regional stability and bring benefits to peoples from both sides.

  Mr. Muhammad denoted that the GCC-Chinese relations had witnessed rapid progress in recent years. Both sides upheld similar positions politically, supplemented with each other economically, possessed huge potential and enjoyed very bright prospects in term of cooperation. The GCC countries expected to strengthen the political dialogue and consultation with China and launch the GCC-China Free Trade Zone at the early date.
