Ambassador Wu Sike hosted a reception to celebrate the Chinese Lunar New Year on the New Year’s Eve on January 31, 2003 at his residence. At the reception, Ambassador Wu offered his warm and sincere season’s greetings to the audience, totaling about 200 overseas Chinese, Chinese doctors and nurses as well as staffs of the Chinese companies currently in Saudi Arabia. Mr. Jaraisy, chairman of the Chamber of Commerce in Riyadh, in his capacity of the chairman of the Sino-Saudi Friendship Association attended the reception as well, where he presented his compliment and appreciation on the friendly relationship between the two countries in the field of economic cooperation and trade. The reception was then followed by a grand artistic show performed by the staffs of the Embassy.

Later on February 2, the Embassy hosted another New Year reception in Al Khobar for the Chinese folks working and living there.
